I'm just learning some of these techniques myself. It sure changes the game when you can track and plot course and speed using the map tools and the echo ranging. until recently I hadn't realized I could sink merchants without even coming to periscope depth.

It's something to shoot and have only the chronometer indicate when the hits should come, then if they do getting to drift up to periscope depth in time to see the bow slip under the waves.

Also there are some good clips on you tube that illustrate these methods.
