As far as websites go I commonly use Flightaware, Simroutes, and Skyvector. If I want to fly a real flightplan I copy the route from flightaware and paste it into the "generate routes" section of simroutes. From there you can download it in a variety of formats or file the plan on vatsim.

I don't know anything about trans-atlantic vfr though.
