how to add new flags to files called flag.dat & flags.d
 
Dear all!

sorry for question but ... does somebody know how to add new flags to files called "flag.dat" and "flags.dat"?

I made many new flags (for such countries as eg. Lithuania, Lotwa, Estonia, Ecuador, Chile, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, etc.) however I have a serious problem with adding them to orginal game files called "flag.dat" and "flags.dat" (of course my new .tga flags are in correct dimension, colour, etc.). I tried to make it with software like "UBISoft Texture Extractor" and "Timetraveller's SH3 Unpacker - build 1.40" but without positive results. Always every operation ends with information (more or less) as this: "Import failed: file is not a part of DAT file". This type of announcement appears always when my new TGA files with new flags having a different name than any of the textures included in the orginal game .DAT file.

However I see that some people know how to add it correctly - eg. Spain, Portugal. What kind of tools I need and/or how to do it correctly???

U tried pack 3d to import them into the *.dat ?

thanks for suggestion but unfortunately Pack3D does not open files called flag or flags DAT.

Just place them to Textures/tex/high folder

Yes - I tried to make it on this way - but solution does not work. First - it is necessary to define new flags in .dat files (flag.dat/flags.dat) as I think...

There are no tools for that. It has to be done by manual hex-editing by copying parts belonged to the same flag and changing digital IDs to make them unique. BTW many flags you mentioned are already included in the Nationality mod on my site.

Thank you very mutch for answer! Currently I am on your www site and I'm downloading nationality_mod_v3. Thanks again! However I can not find in your new (v3) flag/flags dat files such countries as: Chile, CostaRica, Dominica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Venezuela. I have all these flags ready in LowRes and HiRes - however I do not know how to correctly edit hex value in the file flag/flags.dat :oops: Can I send them to you? my e-mail is: u-510@tlen.pl .

I do also new 3D model of the submarine - Polish unit called "Orzel" ("Eagle" in English) which after the lost campaign in September'39 escaped from Baltic Sea (through Danish straitses) and reached UK on 14th October'39. "Orzel" was made in Holland, so - as I think - 3D submarine model will find an use also in Holland Navy. However - as I know - AI for allies submarines is not present in the game.

Flags and Pennants Mod
 
The Flags and Pennants mod unpacked correctly and placed in my Mods folder and activated, but it doesn't work.
The mod readme:
1. To raise the flag, use keyboard key Shift + F (does not work)
2. To lower the flag, Use keys CTRL + F (does not work)

Suggestions?
