The sinking of the Laconia

What do you think of this miniseries as far as history?
It is fair?
Is it correct?

The Imdb comments seem to show that people think its Pro German, but is it?

Is this the one the BBC showed last year?

It was good, iirc something slowed it down and made it lose some appeal - maybe a bit of romance - but I can't be sure. I'd definitely watch it again. :yeah:

Well worth watching because iirc it showed a balanced view from both sides...the Allies weren't entirely blameless by a country mile.

I agree with the comments already made. It is also worthwhile watching the documentary that accompanied the series, which contains interviews with survivors of the sinking.

I watched it last year, and thought it was fairly told. As for the history, I thought it could have gone further to explain things, but I thought it was accurate.

There was a nice discussion on Uboat.net about the legalities of the actions involving the Laconia.

I have watched this recently, it's a waste of time unless you're not familiar with the sinking of the Laconia.

It's definitely worth it to watch I think.:Kaleun_Salute:
