A 1/72 scale fleet sub is already pretty big... This must be huge! Any idea on the length?

42 inches long, 5 1/4 inch beam, and about 7 inches from the top of the fairwater to the bottom of the lower rudder. :D

And Skipjack was pretty small compared to today's boats. Makes me wonder what they'll be up to next.

Of course it will be hard to top what one man can do when he sets his mind to it.

Speaking of large 1/72 scale models...

Soon to be released by Dragon, a 1/72 scale Saturn V:

Ooh! Ohh! Me want! Probably could never afford it, though.

I just noticed the Seaview model underneath Skipjack. Pretty big in its own right.

Subnuts 01-04-12 05:15 PM

Is that a line of sacrificial anodes I'm seeing underneath the rudder?

Yeah, I'm a geek.

Bill Nichols 01-04-12 07:01 PM

Yes, it is. I spent many an hour crawling through Nautilus's superstructure inspecting her 'zincs'. And, you are a geek.

:arrgh!:
