Little Soundproblem with OM

Using OM i´m missing the sound of burning ships ! Not very important but a little immersion killer imho.
With RFB activated or stock everything seems to be ok, but after activating OM 705 or even with OM 705 to 720 with patch, the sound of fire on ships is missing.
Anyone with similar problems ?

I don't think OM makes any changes to sounds for SH4. That's the territory of OMEGU.

To be fair, even though I went from 1939 to 1942 with OM and not having OMEGU installed, I did have a soundmod installed (for the German voices and whatnot.) so I don't recall it being a problem.

That said, you could probably fix it by getting a U-Boat soundmod, or installing OMEGU (which would definitely be better since it makes OM look 50 times better.)

That is what makes me wonder !

With OM (all versions) +/- Omegu (+patch) activated i get no firesounds.
Stock or with RFB+variable Addons everything is ok.

That is odd. I wonder if perhaps somehow the sh.sdl file got corrupted for your OM install?

Also, do you have the 3D sound channels enabled, and the realistic sound travel time on?

It's possible if you have the # of channels set low that it's unable to play the sound due to too many sounds already going at once.

Ok , I will try these options.

Maybe I should also try a new clean install after using RFB with other mods on my first career.

So far....thx mate

You're welcome. Hopefully that resolves the issue. Can't really think of what else it might be if it doesn't.

As for a new install... that's definitely a good idea. I learned awhile back that it's just best to have a clean install for each megamod. Far less issues that way.

Sure takes up a lot of HD space though.

Ok, playing with the sound options didn´t help much.

A new clean reinstall is the only option left I think since I´ve heard similar things about using different megamods. :hmmm:
