I think it was announced waaay back in 2006 or something. So not exactly 'news', tho they've kept pretty silent for some reason. :hmmm:

I've been following it since the middle of last year, looks fantastic.

Cool, they're doing something on Guadalcanal, that's my favorite WW2 campaign.

Yep, it was originally announce a long time ago. Spielberg put it on a back burner to lend his support to Clint Eastwood's two Iwo Jima movies, and I understand that Eastwood is returning the favor by helping out with the series.

It is indeed old, but very good, news.

Whatever they're doing, it looks like it'll be at least as good as Band of Brothers. Can't wait for it, hopefully we'll be able to catch it.
