Really interesting with this old propaganda! I love the amount of details in the movie - this little movie even touches upon the torpedo data ... Das Boot hardly even goes there.

The Wochenschau newsreels never show the true attack procedure.
Did you notice they always show the observation periscope? The "quartermaster writing down firing data" thing is certainly fake, it was done that way in WW1.
The german Vorhaltrechner (TDC) and the attack periscope were obviously secret.
