When does the PPI become available?

Thus far I can only access the A scope for the SJ radar. If I hop over to the PPI station I can't pan down to see the screen.
This is in March 1943 and I just took command of a Gato-class boat.

Are you using FotRSU still? These pix are from it. It would be similar in most mods or Stock:

In the Office January 11, 1943 - checking the SJ-I on the left, regular SJ on the right
Kept the regular radar

Inside the Command Room, hovering over the Radar Station button, and then Clicking it once.

So, you can either click the left button (FotRSU) and it takes you to the screen, or if you click that first Station button
above a 2nd time, it takes you to the A-Scope view by default. But you still have that left button that should take you to the PPI scope.

... and the view of the PPI with "Sweep" set.

Now, if you are in a different mod, the PPI might not be available. In other mods, and in FotRSU, if an upgrade fails in any form, the radar usually fails also, but then the A-Scope does not run either. But even if the radar does not function, or the PPI is not "active" in the modded game yet, you should still be able to go to the station. You just would not be allowed to turn the SJ on... :salute:

Yes I just (yesterday) ended a patrol then while in base installed FotRSU 1.7 (from 1.46)
Neither keyboard shortcut ('J' key) nor the menu bar does that. It brings me to the station, but I can't look down as it were. Unlike the A scope station where I pan down to see the display.

Version 1.7 of Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate
Note: This mod is NOT compatible with previous versions of itself...

meaning... say goodbye to your v1.46 career... or else, finish that career out, then delete the save folder info, before running FotRS-U v1.7. skipper.

Report to Pearl, for summary court martial, for dereliction of duty. :arrgh!:

That is all. Dismissed.

Huh? I'm not sure I follow. If I continue a career from port, what could go wrong?

If it was found to "be" backwards compatible... meaning able to have v1.7 dropped in & a career continued from, in this instance... your v1.46 career... propbeanie & s7rikeback, would NOT have put that notice there... saying NOT compatible with previous versions...

Pure... & simple.

So...

again, your choices are simple... finish out the v1.46 career... or wipe it & set up with v1.7

End of story... end of discussion.

That, clear enough... :hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm:

Ok thanks. Substantial changes under the hood then, I'm used to (back in the day) the incremental changes of TMO where the advice was to not install updates while on patrol.

BTW I've solved the issue of not bein able to see the PPI screen - it was caused by a mod - specifically "FJB Camera Mod for GFO".
