quick question
Ok, I did a thread search but failed to find an answer to my question, so I'll ask. I installed SH5 from scratch so it's clean. Open sh5 and update to 1.20. Start a new career, exit to windows when the tutorial starts. Install WoS pack as per instructions. Everything seems fine up to the point when I try to move submerged. I have read about the TDW electric engine rations patch, and this is not my issue. Actually, it's much worse. While submerged I can select forward movement and the TDW electric engine rations patch issue shows up, not a problem at least I'm moving right.. But then when I select any speed reverse I get nothing. I even let the game run for an hour real world time in emergency back and never moved.
I've installed the game and WoS mod 4 times with the exact same results except the third time, on that time I not only couldn't move in reverse I couldn't move in the forward direction either. Any ideas? If not, could someone tell me how to install 1.02 of WoS? I have V1.02 WoS but I can't get SH5 to update to 1.02eu. I'll just play stock SH5 until someone can help, I have a craving for twisted metal.... Post Script: Also can we get the MD5, or better yet an SHA1 hash for the WoS download so we can verify if the download has been corrupted in someway? Thx again |

THEN....installed "The Wolves of Steel 1.03" megamod + "The Wolves of Steel 1.03 - Patch 5" (latest version)? Also can you confirm that "TDW_GenericPatcher_v_1_0_168_0" and the "TWoS" Snapshot are installed correctly? Functionality of some of the current mods included in the megamod assume that this is so. The Electric engine ratios patch also lists the CO2 bug fix as a dependency: "Dependencies:sh5.electric_engine_ratios.shsim.ele ctric_engine_ratios. shsim.co2_bug_fix" I would try messing with the Generic Patcher myself to try to reproduce your problem but I'm worried I might bork my current campaign.... |

So to test I removed and uninstalled, cleaned the registry, cleaned temp directory and rebooted. I then installed SH5 in default directories (game: C:\Ubisoft\SH5" and launcher: C:\program files(x86)\Ubisoft"). Installed mod 1.3, patch 5 for 1.3, then generic patcher. it closed out by itself again, and I reopened it at which point it asked again to enable the missing features. I did, and then finished the options file and played. I can now move in both directions with the graphical issue of the patch showing. :yeah: So, I'm all good, and I thank you for trying to help. Love this forum! :subsim: |
I'll try it now:rock:

Captains,
I'm doing some research and I need to check your CareerTrack.upc file from my documents/SH5/data/cfg/savegames/000000b6 (or similarly named recent savegame ) folder. Please, upload it somewhere or copy/paste content here with CODE tags... :subsim: |
Here you go, vdr1981!

I have recently got back into the SH series. Back in the day I wasn't even aware of the mods (except for Project Messerwetzer for SHII/DC).
In stock form, SH5 is by far the worst of them, but this mod makes it a worthwhile experience. SH3 probably has the best atmosphere (particularly with GWX), but SH5 can be quite good too. I have only one question about deck gun operations. I have read that in vanilla SH, it is supposed to work in one of two ways: 1. manually, by walking up to it, manning it and firing it yourself 2. by commanding the crew to man it and then selecting a target through binoculars (pressing space to lock the target). In older SH you could also select the deck gun target through UZO/Periscope (L button lock), as I recall. Obviously the mods remove the 'break/lock target' indicator, not so sure if they also remove the function itself as at least through one of the officers, it is possible to follow the currently sighted contact horizontally. So the question........how do I get my crew to fire at a target automatically? I have given them instructions to man the gun, fire at nearest ship, fire at will, and aim at waterline....and they're not firing. The ship is dead ahead at 600 m.... I'm either doing something wrong or haven't found the relevant piece of info in the mod manuals. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Those procedures worked for me in TDW test mission. I think you forgot battlestations. Also from what I observed it's not possible to shoot at friendly targets anymore. Using the generic patcher you can unpatch the new procedure and go back to the old simple one. |

Sometimes i get a CTD, but that happens when i play for almost 3 straight hours, but each patrol get's usually 10 saves, so it's not a big problem. That file im in the middle of a patrol, i will post later the inside harbour file. |
