Playing around trying to get ranks past Kapitanleutnant. I kinda hit one too many zeros when I set the renown multiplier. This patrol netted me 88400 renown.:o Strangely, I'm still Oberleutnant z. S.
Oberleutnant z. S. Franz Tromller commanding U-96. Interesting patrol. First we ran into a lone empire type freighter that engaged us. One eel sent him to the bottom. Next we happened upon the HMCS Uganda on patrol. Fortune favors the bold they say. Well, fortune favored us. We spotted her to our starboard, headed west, while we were northbound. A run at flank followed by a dive, and a quick fan shot with tubes 2 and 3 from 6km sent her to her grave. Then, we ran head on into a convoy. Breaking my normal protocol for double shots for anything over 7k, we tried single shots. Boy did it pay off. We did have to chase down 2 damaged large merchants to finish them with the deck gun. We know for sure we had 2 misses, both TIIs. So with one eel left in the stern tube, we pressed our luck. A storm rolled in, so we blew into the convoy on the surface. First thing we spotted was a tramp steamer down by the bow. Just as I was turning to put our last eel into her gut, a black swan appeared out of the fog, firing everything she had at us. A fast dive to periscope depth, and a snap shot with the stern tube at the black swan later, we were headed for 120m at flank. Silent running at 100m and a 45 degree turn to course 180 and we snuck away with heavy damage from the hail of shells the escort was sending our way before we got under. Too bad our luck didn't hold out. The black swan lived to fight another day, but so did we.:D CAPTAIN'S LOG 25.2.41. 2258 Patrol 3 U-96, 7th/13th Flotilla Left at: February 25, 1941, 22:58 From: St. Nazaire Mission Orders: Patrol grid AL63 1.3.41. 1154 Grid BE 36 Ship sunk! Crew lost: 33 12.3.41. 1830 Patrol results Crew losses: 0 Ships sunk: 8 Aircraft destroyed: 0 Patrol tonnage: 75902 tons All torpedoes expended U-boat damaged (HI 61.91%) Received most of the medals due to the extra zero in the renown multiplier. Now I need to try and sort the promotion deal out. |

In windows visva these are located in program files. Change PlayerRank=11 to 12 from files Careers and Careers_0. Only last patrols are needed to change from both files. Make sure you have 8000 renown to keep that rank. Same goes for Korvettenkapitän except it's rank number is 13 and renown requirement of 15 000. Reason you didn't get promoted was too much renown which results double promotion. |
