You have found out your information may have been stolen in the recent Equifax credit information breech involving more that 150 million victims. What SHALL you do? I know. Freeze your credit. That keeps the big three credit bureaus, Equifax, Experian and .....who's the other bad guy, from selling your personal data for profit. That's their business model so they don't want you doing that. Do NOT have sympathy for them--do it!

But now Experian has a scheme to escape your cursed credit freeze! They'll simply pass it out to anyone who can answer simple, easily available questions to any old e-mail address the crook wants to use.

Yes, this is scary. No, I'm not being an alarmist or exaggerating the danger. A couple Google questions, plus maybe a 5 minute visit to Spokeo, Zillow and similar sites and Experian will e-mail you to any address you specify the PIN number to anyone's account! Experian is CONCERNED about your financial safety----NOT!

That doesn't mean you shouldn't freeze your credit. Make sure you check regularly to ensure nobody has breached that freeze. And don't worry! Experian has your back! Unfortunately that's so they can stab a knife in it.
