Here are the Sonar.wav files of all the sonars (asdic) sounds encountered in the supermods of sh3 :

-stock sh3
-ccom12
-nygm3
-gwx3
-wac5.2
-lsh2020
-gwxonealex1.39
-gwr21

Just rename the one you prefer by Sonar.wav and copy it to paste into data\Sound from your Sh3 installation to have the same in your game :-)

Ping ping ^^

What is the most real sonar sound for you ?

I use the one from Das Boot converted for the game. Can't remember where I got it from or who made it though. :hmmm:

Here you go. I haven't listened to the others so don't know if its one of them already.

thanks it is the same as gwx3 but the sound quality of yours is not good. try the one from gwx3 (exactly the same but better sound)

Strange, I have the opposite; the sound quality of my file is good and gwx is so-so. Probably sound card related.

Little off-topic
The craziest sound I've ever heard is from the good old AOD :D

100% agreed ! That puts the fear of God into ya every time especially since the escorts weren't to be trifled with vs. the cream puffs in SH3. :)

can you link us the sound.wav of this ? :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:

Unfortunately no
The sound files in AOD have an extension "raw"
And I'm not very sure if they could be applied in Sh3, the gameplay is different, as John said!

I don't know how but they can be extracted and used in SH3; i.e. Stiebler's "Smoke on the horizon !" sound file in his patch is also from AOD.

Yes true

Awhile back I looked for a .raw editor but had no luck. Maybe it requires hex editing.
