SH4 XXI early
 
I am using sh4 ommode, is there a way to use xxi from 1939?

NOT without working up a whole rewrite of the files associated with it. entry date, equipment files, weapons... everything that is associated for the XXI files & such.

Am sure that others can step in here & give a more... well defined answer than what I gave here.

in SH4 there is more to boat availability than the boat itself.
so, no there isn't a simple way to make the XXI available in 1939.
the XXI boat was never deployed in real life and has been buggy from the start of SH4...even in Stock.
you can get one in 1944 in OpM and DW but be prepared for some unexpected issues.

one more item... it is strongly suggested that you migrate your ATO activity from Op Monson to Dark Waters as DW has resolved many of the OpM issues plus it has been enhanced.

So just replace start year from 1943+ year to 1939 in mentioned above files.
After manipulation with Basic.cfg; Flotillia.cfg ; SH3 folder NS_Uboat21 <-> NSS_Uboat18 (for SH4) - do "smart replacement" from string

So as result you will be able to select type XX! submarine when starting new campaign (1-st Flotilla 1939). Just in case don't forget to replace all torpedos to T1 according 1939 year.

Worked for me for Knighs of Sea Depth 2 addon to SH4.

Time compression is for noobs. No time speed acceleration.
Only hardcore, only 1 (real time) x 1 (in-game time). :har:

UPD: And last problem - Flotillas.upc need to add blocks for XXI type submarine: since each sub type has it's own missions/objects (check inside file), create your own missions for XXI or take II/VII missions and replace them for XXI.
But main is that you can ride XXI type in 1939 and game will not crash in loading process.
Maybe some kind understanding person will make MOD for us.
