NMS compatible ship mods and how to make them?

Hey guys!
Loving sh4 thanks to NMS, praised be its maker no doubt. However, I got curious and was wondering just how one would go about making a ship mod (adding new ship to the game) that follows NSM's mechanics and doesn't CTD or well, isn't generally disagreeable when coupled with the latter either.

Any tips and info are welcome, as are general guides too, cheers! :Kaleun_Salute:

Depends on if your doing a Custom built 3D Ship or just robbing other 3D models to transplant.
Then there's changing SH3 or SH5 ships to SH4 standards.
It's work no matter the direction your looking for.

Well, I was thinking about adding some of the free 3d models I could find online so it's not really robbing in any illegal way haha

But yeah, I'm expecting it to be a load of work either way; so it might just be my personal side project for the following weeks or months even. Still, I'm down for it all the same.

First,
grab S3D and play with it a bit to learn how to export and import 3D Models and textures.

Second,
you need a 3D modeling program. Lots of choices out there.

You need to Scale and position many 3D objects to work for importing with S3D. Mostly it's just following the build of any Stock Unit.
:yep:
