My ten rules for torpedo evasion

Hello fellow submarines. After getting killed several times by torpedoes that I evaded because I got cocky, I decided to post some of my rules here to help fellow captains.

1) The only speed is Flank Speed.
2) Cavitation is really bad. A Torpedo in the stern is even worse.
3) If the torpedo is locked on to you remember., you have 3 dimensions. Use them.
4) If the torpedo is high, go low. If it is low., go high.
5) If you dodge a torpedo do not go silent. The torpedo can still hear you and you just lost manoeuverability.
6) Noise Makers buy you time. Speed buys you life.
7) If you see a torpedo close by, it is coming for you. Always. Do not try to sneak past it. It won't work.
8) The safe distance from a torpedo is 5k yards... After you hear the explosion.
9) your torpedoes can kill you.
10) The safest place for a torpedo to be is 10kyd away and low on fuel. Failing that, try to keep them in your stern.

11) If you are at flank speed you can create knuckles by going full rudder +30 or -30. It's like a small noise maker, always nice to make the torp lose time.
12) Never go bellow 50 ft of the bottom, you will hit the bottom when doing evasive move with plan at +30
13) You can lure the torpedo onto the enemy ship, drive the torp at the right depth, and make it lose you with a noise maker or an evasive maneouver, if you are lucky it will acquire the enemy.

1. Keep them astern thanks to over-modeled submarine agility
2. Form a fail-safe knuckle
3. Have patience

Works every time.

#4 is the one that gets me killed every time.

Always dive or surface away from the torpedo, even if you might go past 1000m or breach.

I'll add this though:

If your bow is well below or above an incoming torpedo think about reversing your planes to kick your stern out of the way. It's saved me more than once.
