Say what?

Is their anyone streaming who actually understands about the Uboat war? If I see one more person at periscope depth going flank speed, I'm gonna...
Also, what little I see of the game past the streaming chat box, it looks like a click fest. Is this game realistic?
What's up with upgrades while at sea? Seriously?

Granted, I don't know too much about submarine tactics. But I know that a sub is easier to spot if the periscope is up and you are going at high speeds. The thing is, otherwise you won't be able to spot jack ****. Hydrophone is not properly implemented to the map yet, so that's how the game works...for now.

I don't know if you watched one of my streams, but my chatbox is pretty tiny. Also, the game is NOT really realistic at this point. It also does not intend to be fully realistic, it is not a simulation and was never advertized as one.

Last but not least, you can't upgrade your sub while at sea. Where did you get this from? Your officer you send to the research facility will probably have unlocked an upgrade while you were at sea, but you have to return to the harbour to actually upgrade your U-Boot.

This game is more centered on the crew and managing them, to get the job done.

I dont think this is a good platform for simulation.

You are right, most people do not understand the physics in sub operations.

Flank speed with the periscope up can cause serious damage, much less be spotted!

Lol. I have seen plenty of streams and some of those guys were really funny.
They made the biggest mistakes which would be deadly in a modded SH3,4,5.

Seemed they never have played a real Subsim. One for example was using the rear torpedo to shoot at the destroyer who was following him 500 m behind and yes somehow he was able to hit it with minor damages, but then he used immediately 3 other torpedos from the front.
Where is the logic of some people ?

One guy was really good. (german guy married to a Scottish woman) He really knew everything about real submarines and played like a experienced SH player.

The game looks really interesting and I hope the devs will find a good balance between Arcade and Simulation. (since it is not advertised as Sim).

I am hoping the modders can turn it in to something quite brilliant.

Based on the streams i have viewed, there is a stock SHIII style interface for inputting AOB, range, speed etc. so in a way, there IS a TDC of sorts.

I hope they fix the battery life because from what I’ve seen it last forever going full speed.

The German guy with the partially Scottish woman would be me. ;) I don't know everything about subs, but I am somewhat of a military history nut and I like submarine history, so I know a thing or two about them. Also I have played SH3, SH4 and SH5 with...mediocre success, I am just too nervous and impatient. Last stream I let my crew suffocate at the end because I kept the time compression running for too long. xD

Battery life is too long right now, while oxygen supply is too low atm. I mean, after 2hrs your crew dies...that's just silly.

Modding tools will be available from June onwards...which means the game will be moddable already before it is even fully done.

If you want to see someone playing the game who knows a bit about submarine warfare and WW2 German submarines, I will be streaming this evening at 8PM CET / 2PM EST.
