AI Narwhal Class for TMO
 
Looking for a AI Narhwal Class for TMO. I have adding Makin Island raid as a special mission in the campaign. Of course this will be a substitute for the Argonaut as to my knowledge there is no mode for Argonaut out here. Each time I try to create a AI Narwhal, causes CTD.

You'll have to re-map the IDs in the dat-type files, and remove all "player" assets on the sub, including deck guns, periscopes etc, and create "AI" versions of them. Similar to the AI_Fleetboat, and could probably use those AI assets instead. Since the landings are during the dark hours of the morning, we just use a regular AI Fleetboat for our "Argonaut", or the Nautilus, depending upon which boat you are driving. There is no viable way to "launch" rafts from the AI boats. The Argonaut is basically a Narwhal boat, only like 12 foot longer, and does not have an elevated gundeck like the Narwhal and Nautilus. Same conning towers, same guns, no aft torpedo tubes, and a cavernous interior... I wonder if we could convince vickers_03 to build us some Marine bunks for our V4/SM-1/APS-1 Argonaut interior?... :har:

Now, I thought ID conflicts were to be avoided... Using the TMO Narwhal as a copy for an AI boat would set one up (or a whole bunch), wouldn't it?... :hmmm:

If you all ready have a working AI boat?

Clone that then just import the 3D meshes exported from the Narwhale.
Seems faster/easier to me then what you suggest.

You can use IDDuplicateFinder.exe to get ID's.
Windoze 10 users can grab the ID's using OCR to make a text file of the ID's.
Then use 010 and script it to check any new ID's you use.

Here's another way to OCR the output.

Once you've got a complete data base of all ID's? Get the ID's from your cloned files and then search the original data base you OCR'd.

May take some time to get it all done but in the long run it WILL save you a lot of head banging, hair pulling, and bullets from shooting your computer! Not to mention replacing that now dead computer!
(YES! I have killed a few out of shear frustration! GWX up to the final 3.0 version took the life of 2 NoteBooks. SH5 has claimed 1 computer so far)

I have every 3D object from the Narwhale including the AO mappings if someone wants them.

Took me about 60 seconds to get them all.
That includes EVERY frame of animations for torp doors and BOLD!

Now! You want to talk Evil, Wicked, Mean, and Technomancy Nasty?
I ripped ALL the ID's with IDDuplicateFinder.exe and 010 in like 4 minutes!

You see, 010 has a Process explorer! And guess what shows up in there like a freaking table?

You know what that means now don't you? It's pretty easy to created a data base of ID's that can be searched when creating new stuff with new IDs!
Or one could write a small ID creation program that checks that data base to insure no duplicate ID is created!

Can't recall if ANYONE has suggested or looked into doing such a wild idea that would save so much time and headaches!

I fully expect my 'Stalker' to rip my ideas off very soon.

There should NEVER be a reason to suffer ID conflicts now! All Mods can be cross checked for ID conflicts once data bases are created.

I'll start my Scripts to grab FOTRSU ID's next. Save a bajillion questions from propbeanie!
