however, after playing a while with that rank and having over a dozen successful missions, my rank is still LT. that behaviour leads me to believe that user-player promotions seem to be hard-coded by UBI.
all of the ranks are properly defined but Ubi's design for a US commanding officer do not have the wherewithal to advance a user-player from LT to LtCdr.

Yeah. I was fiddling with ranks.upc earlier, and they go all the way to flag ranks, but they're not used. Perhaps it was a planned feature? :ping:
