I couldn't resist saying hello.

But I can't stay. I've been PC-game dry for years now. There are grandchildren to handle, causes to volunteer for, business matters which never end and a hubby and kids with bottomless pits that need to be fed.

I almost forgot the laundry! :88)

Can't stay. Be well. And a happy thanksgiving. Well, not for the turkey.

Ahhhhhhh yes. I remember when Neal annoyed the Pharoah by trying to make a submarine shaped pyramid.

When that didn't work,he tried to sell the Minoans the idea of building a submarine. They gave him the cash to build one and sent Neal to a shipyard on Thera. Unfortunately,Neal attempted to build a Nuclear Sub, But since he tried to build one a few thousand years too early,it kinda went boom. (And scientists STILL think that was a volcanic eruption).

After THAT debacle,Neal managed to con the Greeks into building a submarine. His first attempt sank. His second attempt caught fire and sank. His third attempt exploded, caught fire and sank. Finally,Neal decided that trying to build a sub wasn't such a great idea after all. (An interesting fact is that the Hunley was actually based on a Neal Stevens design that Professor Hunley found on a Hierogliphic in the Great Pyramid in Egypt.).

Eventually,Neal hit on the idea of having a Submarine web site, but since papyrus wasn't a very effective way to do it,he chose to wait till computers were invented.

My son, I believe you may qualify for this year's Blessed Ugly Lady's Loving Safety and Health In Texas medal. (TM)

Holy crap. Straighten up; the boss is here!

Oh, and Rick is absolutely this forum's most prominent 172-year-old member.

Sailor Steve 03-02-11 02:36 AM

Aw, man, they're coming out of the woodwork! When the Red-Shoe Queen arrives you know the party's started!

Have a pistachio, miz Sharkey ma'am?

geetrue 03-02-11 12:38 PM

I agree Rick Sniper is the oldest member still posting ... agreed

but I still have one ace card in the hole for fear that this was a commie trap to locate old submarine sailors and get any useful information out of them I orginally registered in my sons name (David Armstrong) as geetrue2 and when the collaspe of Sub Club came about it was changed to just plain geetrue.

Sniper is the winner, but keep the thread going you never know who might drop by ... who would ever believe Avon lady would come back old age does funny things to ya :woot:

Ahoy !

I remember when there was just the DeepDomain, Sharky was still young, and Neal already old :-).

Then . . . . , don't remember when, there was a forum, it had a little link at the bottom of the DeepDomain page

I also remember Neal wanted to create more than one forum, I was against it. LOL imagine that nowadays there would just be one forum. One would post a message and before you know it it would be on page 20 :haha:

I also remember Neal did a survey to find out more about his visitors. Who they where, what they did, etcetera. He even gave away prizes for people taking part in that survey.

I still have my prize:

Oh btw, oldest post I could find is from: 4/26/01 6:43:41 am

Oh btw2 Is good to see so many familiar faces around here !
