My current patrol, first of the career. I've sunk 3 ships:

1. Small sailboat (used the AA gun).
2. 500 ton tugboat (used the deck gun).
3. Revenge-class Battleship.

I like to imagine after the first two my crew is whispering about how we'll be the laughing stock of the sub pen; using our mighty TypeIX to bully tiny costal vessels. And then we intercepted a huge North-Atlantic convoy and weaved four torpedos 3 columns deep to cripple a battleship, got depth charged for a few hours by her escorts, then returned to deliver the coup de grace. Hopefully the crew has a little more pride in themselves now!

Great Job!

What Mega-Mods and realism % do you use?

E.Morgersen pattuglia 13 Dicembre 1940.

We started the patrol on December 13th at 07:40 am.
Departure from St.Nazaire.
Mission orders: Patrol Grid BF17.

December 15,1940,21:02
Ship sunk
Grill BF17
C3 Cargo, 6446 tons.

December 17,1040,18:40
Ship sunk
Grill BF17
C3 Cargo 7099 tons.

December 18,1940, 05:22
Ship sunk
Grid BF42
C2 Cargo 6450 tons.

December 18,1940, 08:12
Sunken Ship
Grid BF43
Small Mercantile 2047 tons.

Patrol results
Crew losses: 0
Sunken ships: 4
Aircraft destroyed: 0
Patrol tonnage: 23212.

Three patrols and luck has always accompanied us. We have always met isolated ships and therefore we have always used the cannnone.
I can't wait to use torpedoes!
Anyway we can't complain that we have sunk ships of 59200 tons.
I received a 2 Class Iron Cross and decorated one of my NCOs with the 2 Class Iron Cross and handed over a gunboat specialization to crew members who didn't have the submariner badge.
Morale is high and the crew can't wait to resume service, even if you get a little bored but you need to rest.
We will soon be back at sea again.

Herr Kapitan I was playing with GWX 3.0 Gold and I really liked it, but I uninstalled it, because I couldn't use SH3 Commander even though I had the dedicated patch installed. I would like to play GWX again, but I would like to use SH3 Commander too. Did I do something wrong ? Thank you for your answer.

Difficult for me to say. I know, I took special attention to follow the installation instructions very carefully. Perhaps, you can ask your question in a dedicated post in this forum or the Sh3 Mod Workshop

E.Mergersen patrol 16 January 1941.

Commander E.Mergensen 16011941.
Patrol4.
U-101, 7th Flotilla.
Departure 18:51 hours from St.Nazaire base.

Excellent weather and sea.
We proceed calmly hoping to make a good tonnage.

After three days of total boredom we sight a cargo ship.
An MX40B travels alone and like a pigeon we sink it with the cannon.
19011941 MX40B sunk at 12:11 p.m.

Crew enthusiastic and the gunners are the stars of the 101. They spend two days without seeing anything and I try to keep the crew busy with various exercises and to refine more and more their fighting spirit, even if I think there is no need.

20011941 I finish the patrol and we go home. It is a pity to have sunk only one ship.

21011941 One sighting and it is a small merchant. He travels alone and honestly I don't know what to think of these English: brave or unconscious ?
I call the men to the piece and we liquidate the ship quite quickly.

We are on the way back in BF43 and at 12:22 p.m. ship sunk.

22011941 we arrive in St.Nazaire and we are disappointed by the patrol because so far they have entrusted us with poor grids.

We have sunk about 8000 tons of ship.
We hope that the next assignment will be better.

Lieutenant Commander Ernst Mergersen.
