An infected thread.

So entered Subsim General Topic and the first unread new thread was

Google Chrome update blocking subsim.com

I clicked on the title to open the thread and read it and the answers

My antivirus disconnected subsim and a pop-up with following message

"We have safely interrupted connection to subsim.com. ´cause it was infected with HTML;Google-A(phis)"

What !?

This is the first time it have happened to me.
All the other thread is OK.

I'm confused to be honest.

I can see 5 person have written an answer to the owner of and 131 have viewed the post.

The only I get is a white screen with the words

Couldn't open subsim.com and then my

Avast Internet Security tell me why(See first post).

It looks like Avast is cutting of my internet connection to subsim when I click on that thread.

I guess it is only me who have this problems, so I'm going to delete this thread before I go to bed.

It must be a false positive that Avast is detecting Markus, which is good in a way, as I would rather they be overly cautious than not enough.

I have tried to find information about this

HTML;Google-A(phis)
HTML:Google-A(phis)
(couldn't really see if it was a ";" or a ":" in the message

Nothing really came up. Only something about Chrome and Avast isn't working together.

I'm still curious to why this is only happening to me. ´cause I can't be the only one with Avast antivirus.

And again.

Saw Skybird had made a new thread in this sub-forum(don't know what you call a part of a forum like this one - PC hadware/software forum)

Clicked on it to read

BAM my connection to the internet was cut and the same pop-up message came from AVAST.
Had to close subsim and open it again.

Why ?
I can't find any information about this HTML: Google-A(phis)

The way I understand it is that Subsim just needs to upgrade their certificate to https. Right now it is http..... (s for security) and I think Subsim is going to go https soon.

For example YouTube & Facebook are https. A lot of websites are still http.

There is nothing wrong with Subsim now, Avast just seems to think Subsim should go https asap.

This is my understanding anyway.

Happy Hunting!

It's until know only these two thread I can't visit, without my AVAST cut the internet connection and tell me why.

I have absolutely no problem visiting or open all the other threads in our forums.

I'm curious to know what Skybird had written and what type of link he had posted in his thread that made my AVAST go full alert.

Then I need to know what this HTML: Google-A(phis) is

Skybird posted a link to a popular program that some people use to get files. Using it, the program helps you download files but different parts of the file come from different sites all at once. Some people use the program to download movies and other large files.

Well, that program is no longer safe to use. The name of the program is in the link that he posted and Avast saw it.

Html is the computer language websites use that tell the browser what font to use, where the pictures go, and what the words are that the website wants on the page. So Avast saw the Google-A.... link and didn't think it was safe either.

That's the best I can explain without using the words in the link.

Thank you so much

That could explain it.

I think you are taking about this Bit Torrent.

If you right click on this page scroll down to " View Page Source " you can see all the HMTL code

The purpose of a web browser (Chrome, etc) is to read HTML documents and display them. It is possible that an error can occur if it fails to read code correctly

mapuc 02-25-18 03:45 PM

Thank you.

I didn't know that, know I do.

I will however not visit these two pages to see what it says about this HTML.
