sh4speech 2.4 on win7

Hi all

I have been trying to enable speech commands in SH4 without luck.

Running on Windows 7 I can't get sh4speech to work in game. I command window commands get recognised but not in game. Did install as said also changed resolution in *.bat file.

Anyone with similar issues?

oowop, I have similar issues, I'm running Win7 all I can get is 'Listening' in the Dos box, I requested info in the Fleet Boats Mod Workshop, still no response, gave up with sh4speech, am now using VAC with Sh3 Setkeys Mod, trouble is VAC is not free but has 30 day trial. I hope you didn't install the Speech Recognition SDK 5.1 !!! It's not for Win7 only XP. If you have any joy with Sh4speech please let me know, I'm still trying to get it to run if I have any progress I'll get back to you.
Good Luck,
Regards,
H.T.

Listening

If the DOS box shows "Listening" then you should be good to go.
Leave the DOS box where it is and simply start the game.

Tomoose,
Thanks for replying, 'Listening', good to go, that's what I thought, but nothing,no response at all. I've tried the default resolution with only speaking basic commands not requiring command bar or dial triggers, no joy, set to my screen resolution of 1680 x 1050 still no joy, I have no problem with VAC so it's not a mic issue. I fire up sh4speech, then sh4 only, I dont open the Windows Speech Recognition. It's one of those bloody annoying things that you can't let get the better of you, I'd rather like to get it working, VAC is ok but does have hiccups at times, can't justify to wife paying for something I keep swearing at !! (She has issues with my gaming anyway!) Thanks again,
Regards,
H.T.

Hi guys.

Actualy I did install Speech recognition sdk and also phyton and the other one. No deal here. Thank I tried XP compatability mode. Nothing again. DOS box listens but I guess doesn't. I also tried running as administrator which I belive it's causing these troubles. DOS box crashes when run as administrator.

I'm running win7 utlimate x64. 64bit might be the cause also.

Will try VOC but not buy here for same reasons. Wife doesn't dig subs, but Farmville is great. C'mon crazy world.

oowop,
Does your WSR (Windows Speech Recognition ) work? Have you gone through the tutorial & mic setup? These are mandatory requirements for Sh4Speech.
Even though I'd already done them damn Sh4Speech thing still wont work.
One thing, make sure your mic level stays up, mine keeps going to zero when starting an application requiring the mic.
Good luck,
Regards,
H.T.

p.s. I've just tried SH5 with Speech Recognition for SH5 and all is well, so it's not a mic or Win7 issue, I'm pleased with that, just this SH4Speech to fix.

One more time. Read here, if you haven't yet: http://knepfler.com/shSpeech/

Do you have the Microsoft Speech SDK 5.1 installed?

shSpeech dos box but still no game recognition?

I found that if I changed both shspeeech and silent hunter game programs to both have the property of win 7 compatibility, the commands were finally transmitted from the DOS box (where shspeech is) to the actual program itself.

Don't get your sarcasm, actually. Sometimes people look in forums for their answers long after the post was made.

Click on the name of the guy who asked the question. Look at 'Public Profile'. Look at 'Last Activity'.

He hasn't visited this forum in three years. Either he got his answer or he didn't care. Either way, he's not going to read your answer.
