Could be but there's still the accomodation and travel to sort out :hmmm:

Hire car would probably be cheaper than trying to use the railways around here. :hmmm: Given that half of the listed attractions are in Portsmouth and one other is in Cambridgeshire, there'll be some driving needed and the price of train tickets these days is stupid. Would love to go to the Royal Marines museum though. :yep: Might find something useful in their archives too... :hmmm:

At the subsim meetin', we decided that the IWM would be (almost) a full plate of things to do. If we went there, how much time would that take up?:hmmm:

If I be there next year and I will be if nothing unexpected happens, than I am coming with my own car.

If you're coming through Hull you could pick me up :D

If anyone makes a detour via Glossop or Manchester on the way down, they could pick me up:DL

I am taking my family to Kona for 1 week August 5-12 2011 so I am up for Pearl. I have been on the Bowfin about 10 years ago but have never been on the Missouri.

Bit of a detour from London.

Dont forget there's also the Historic Dockyard at Chatham
HMS Gannet a Victorian Sloop
HMS Cavalier a WWII Destroyer which also sits in the drydock where HMS Victory was built
and HMS Ocelot an O class sub from 1962
Paddle steamer trips on the Kingswear Castle along the River Medway to Rochester where you can then visit the castle or wander around the city and visit the Charles Dickens museum
An hours drive from London http://www.thedockyard.co.uk/Netsite..._Warships.html

From Chatham you can drive down to the RAF Museum at Manston, or go direct to the White Cliffs experience at Dover.

I recon your going to need at least a week:D

Been there a couple of times about 27 years back...they tell me that these days the vehicles are still an excellent experience but the museum shop no longer stocks the reference books I for one have collected around camo schemes etc. and now caters mostly for souvenir hunters.

I'd like her to come, and I know she'd be more than welcome, but she'd be bored I think and just moan. When, in all your opinions, should I first broach the subject - sooner or later? :hmmm:

There might be several missuses.....they could moan together....:woot:...

If it's in London or anywhere else near the Netherlands this year, I'll come if I have the time/money. In 2008/2009 I was just barely a member so it wouldn't have made any sense to come. This year it was in the US and I simply don't have the money for that.

You bring the beer and I'll provide the cheer...
