3D Model: Barbel Class SS

I started work on a new sub 3d model, its not exactly built for DW its probaly will get added it in a low poly form. I guess I just want to improve my skills by working on a higher detail project. I have to finish the masts then I begin mapping and painting. Feel free to post comments...

Note the limber holes forward of the sail, those are cut in to the mesh.

Are you using Booleans to cut the holes?

I notce a bit of pinching around the holes. There is a little trick I learnt for doing boolean cuts and it is to do it only once. So get all the bits you are using to make the holes. Put them in the places you need and then attach them to each other so they are one object.

Then use boolean cut the one time.

Yes I did use Booleans to cut the holes. I tired to cut them all at once but in the end I started cutting them in groups, like the holes on the bottom of the hull were one group, while the limber holes were another because I just kept getting ideas for new stuff to cut in. I think I'll be able to hide it a bit when I texture it.

I figured you could use this::salute:

Xabba I used the Smooth function on the hull and sail and it seemed to take care of most of that pinching.

@nikimcbee: I would love to watch it but I use a computer at the local library to get online and they block YouTube. :damn: Could someone rip the video off youtube and post it on an FTP? I know there is software that can download YouTube videos. :ping:

Quick update started mapping and painting. I'm do this in a diffrent way then I normaly do, I'm mapping each part by its self then importing it back in to 3dsmax. Seems to be working good. I added a coat of primer and here is how she looks...
