Covered in blood. Why? This comes days after a shooting that killed 4 in a Jewish grocery store.

Warning, last time i checked, that was the unedited version.

Armed members of the church killed him before he could cause any more death.

Neither the victims nor the gunman have been named by authorities as of Monday morning, although officials said the gunman had been arrested multiple times in different municipalities.

"The shooter is relatively transient but has roots to this area," Matthew Desarno, special agent in charge of the FBI Dallas office told reporters Sunday night. He added that the shooter was not on any sort of watch list.

Paxton said it was his understanding that the gunman was a "more of a loner." He had been to the church several times before and was welcomed in, the attorney general said.

As one who 'packs' for a living, as well as off duty, and has stood guard at both a large Jewish resthome and a Bay Area temple during high holidays as a buffer aginst anti-Semetic threat, this has rattled my cage considerably. One wonders if one will be 'up to it' and actually prevent such an ocurrence. Careful, meticulous positioning and geographic threat assessment (what if consideration)are critical, especially in a crowded synogogue congregation. Copycat perpetrators are also a major concern...as the perpetrators generally prove not to be overly bright or innovative on their own.

1st thing the news needs to stop saying is that a few saved 256 people.
Gunman did not have the ammo to kill 256 people nor the fire power to do so once panic set in should it have got that far.

More of the media playing up a situation for it's own good.

I look at it like suicide by Texans!

PRECISELY!

I agree, what else can we do. I started carrying about three years ago, bought the wife one, and we go practice at least once a month. I don't prefer to, but these days you never know.

That is a nasty situation, but if there is a lining to it... At least the suspect was against the outside wall, and not in the middle of the room.
