I didn't played to much with XXI , so I want to know more about thi state of art machine:
1.what is the max speed you achieved submerged?
2.Should snorkel release smoke?mine doesn't release...
3.if you have all albericht materials ,can destroyers detect you?
4.i click hydrophone men I select option give me range to target and option 2 which I forgot what was ....but he tell me no sound contact although destroyer is 2000 m away
5.what is max speed with snorkel?
6.april 11 1945 Bergen,going to patrol in caribbean ,set course submerged with snorkel all away at 7-8 knots, fuel is enough to come back ?
7.Anybody know where I can dowland a skin for xxI ,it was light black and had third Reich eagle on both side of the tower,I saw posted here image......

I was just looking for the XXI max speed on snorkel myself. Read somewhere that the Type XXIII could make 10.4 knots on snorkel, but the Type XXI could only make about 6 knots according to this ...

This reference on the Wilhelm Bauer, U-2540, also gives 6 kts snorkeling ...

this response is assuming you have not modded speeds/stock and all in game.

20 with snorkel 16-18 without snorkel

no smoke is not realeased in stock and i haven't gotten far enough to to test if the snorkel releases smoke or not.

yes. the albericht materials just reduce the sonar ping reflection as they can still pick you up by the cavitation your screws make above 50-100 RPMs IIRC

the hydrophone direction MUST be on the ship (the needle must be facing and ship must appear on the notpad) for the sonarman to give any kind of range estimation.

historicly they could not go to fast or the snorkel would snap off. in game you can go underwater max speed.

XXI should be able to make it you can always have your nave officer calculate range at current speed and range till end of plotted course.

Is the destroyer stopped? Depending on your mod soup and the sea state, the hydrophone man can lose contact and will not keep it if the Tommies stop to listen for or bang around for you.
