Aedes Ars

The last few days I've been surfing around hobbystores to find something to build-To be honest I didn't know what I should buy-Motorcycle, Ship-Civ. or Mil. Airplane, tanks or what..then I found this company Aedes Ars.

Hmm now that look interesting..so I bought this model kit

Just to see if I like it.

That's a good idea.

I tend to focus on 1/18th scale die cast cars, 1/24th scale endurance racing, 1/350th scale subs, and 1/144th scale military jets. I'll work on one of those basic types until I start to feel some burn out and then either switch to another of the types or go back to wrenching on my one of my flight sims (FS2002 and FS2004) and logging some virtual hours.

As far as building models, everything you can work on will give you more experience (and sometimes inspiration) for the other types. Its a cumulative process and it helps if you can stay sharp with your basic skills.

I also like the idea of starting a new type of build with something basic and fairly small. See if you enjoy the build and the finished product then tackle a castle. :D

Which is my idea-If I like it then I will try building a castle.

Furthermore I'm suffering from chronical stress syndrome(Beside my Asperger) working with my hands/fingers with whatever is un-stressful for me.

Oy, what's that made of, paper? Kinda cool, I wouldn't mind trying that myself.

The skeleton of the building is made of cardboard which you assemble and then you ad these mine ceramic bricks onto the wall and ceramic roof tiles to the roof

Here is a video explaining what Aedes Ars is

Edit
Forgot something ET2SN wrote "then tackle a castle"
If it's something I like and I'm good at it-I would love to build the Hogwarts castle.
Unfortunately they do not have a model of this castle.

My package with the Villa Toscana model arrived today. I've taken some photos of the box and the content.

I tried to upload via imgur a photo-But it was so huge so I erased it.

Until I know how to resize a picture you have to wait until then.

Markus,

When you upload an image to IMGUR, you can click on it and a new window will open. In that window will be a preview of the picture and, to the right of the preview, a bunch of links for posting the image elsewhere.

Below the links is a box labeled "Sizes". You can click on a size and IMGUR will resize the picture for you. I usually use "Huge Thumbnail". It sounds like it will be big, but this is [roughly] the size that results:

And here is the size of the "Large Thumbnail":

Construction has started.

First I cut out the part from the sheets and and added strips to them.

I had glued the first part onto the base, when I realized I had forgot to cut out the doors and windows.

Now the real fun begin and which will take a while-We talk month.

Each ceramic stone has to be adjusted so it fit the square on the paper wall.

As i mentioned in my last post the work with these ceramic brick would take time.

The first picture show how these bricks doesn't really fits so I had to sand and using my knife to get it in the right length

https://i.imgur.com/iM3AJTsh.jpg

Second picture shows how it looks after I have sanded and used my knife how it looks-It toke some minutes and still it ain't perfect. I leave it there and continue with the next brick.(It's not the same brick though)

You can also see that it don't have the right height either-So I have to put something under maybe some paper or similar.

These ceramic bricks was hard to cut in almost right length with this knife

https://i.imgur.com/LLSU6Avh.jpg

The problem using this knife to cut the bricks made them split

So I found a way using this tool and it works. As long I don't force the saw down on the brick

https://i.imgur.com/VO9V1k5h.jpg

I still have to sand them to their right length

Edit
It toke me all evening to make one row fit..so I have decided to buy these instead. It says mursten, gule, 400 stk-which mean brick, yellow, 400 pcs. They have almost the right length and height. Every one of them have same length, height and thickness.
