best practice for Sea Power

Is Dangerous Waters a good combat sim to play in anticipation of Sea Power? Thanks

UglyMowgli 10-21-22 06:22 PM

No.

Fleet Command is the nearest in term of gameplay style.
Command Modern Operation is better but way more expensive.

re best practice for Sea Power

Thanks. I've played both. Fleet Command is way more approachable but I have some display glitches. I was hoping for meaningful updates but other options seem to be 'coming soon'. :haha:

Or if you have Cold Waters, install the "dot mod" and you can play surface ships with some caveats and restrictions due to CW engine.

As opposed to playing The Sims or Call of Duty? Yeah, definitely. You can at least get familiarized with some relevant systems and weapons. But like UglyMowgli said, Dangerous Waters is a study sim where you play exclusively as one platform per mission, in great detail, and all centered around anti-submarine warfare. Sea Power will be controlling a bunch of different ships while also having to contend with the much different (and fast paced) anti-surface and anti-air domains, which you can experience as the Perry in Dangerous Waters.
