Theory about SHO

I think that SHO might be an attempt to get more people interested in submarine sims after SH5 turned out to be a failure. If it does well enough, perhaps we'll finally see a SH6.

Well, losing your entire boat, crew and equipment in one sinking will never pass with OL community. People will not spend $50 dollars to buy all new stuff every time.

But on the other hand the amount of tech gained from browser integration, flashplayer, shockwave and other areas, has made that franchise platinum
before it was ever released in OB.

Only time and money will determine if it will be a financial success.

I'm hopeful that it will make people seek a better (for want of a better word, not a slight on SHO) subsim, pointing others who don't know us yet into our direction too. :yeah:

But I seriously wouldn't get your hopes up towards a SH6. This is it - SH6 Lite.

What I would like to see, is UBIsoft work with the modding community and release core game updates for older programs. This in turn allow the modders to continue to build on the original game.

These updates would be sold as a download for a small amount and would hopefully help keep the game alive.

Unfortunately, if millions of dollars are not involved, developers tend not to be interested.

Publishers, not devs. The devs want the best game they can as it's their reputation on the line. The publisher, however, will soon cut a project short if the figures change.

Well in this case, actually its just two people.
Yves & Michael Guillemot.

If we could only figure out a way to get there attention.:salute:
