U-Boat Interior Compass

Designing the interior of the boat, I noticed that the compasses in different rooms show different values. It's rather strange to realize that none of the moderators have fixed these errors so far.

Here's what I've managed to do so far =>

Changed the TDC sensors to the correct ones:

The compass now has the correct texture and works:

Changed the sensor in the engine room:

For me, 3 compass repeaters in the rooms of the soundman and the radio man and the control room show the same correct values and only the conning tower compass repeater seems flawed to me.

Yes, that's what I want to do. The Ubisoft mixed up the textures and all the compass uses the texture of another sensor. I'll try to fix it.
I have already fixed in CR and QR

Да, я как раз и хочу этим заняться. Юбики перепутали текстуры и компас использует текстуру другого датчика. Я попробую исправить.
Я уже исправил в CR и QR

It's great if you correct this misunderstanding. Also, when it comes to interior display devices, I think the CO2 display is definitely overkill. The instruments used to monitor gases in air did not work online. It was a one-time procedure and it was necessary to work to find out the content of carbon dioxide in the air.

I'm glad someone else finally pointed this out!

I think they mixed up the texture of the inner compass in the conning tower with what was supposed to be the speedometer in the engine room:

They also mixed one up in the TDC:

Hopefully we can find a way to fix it. Love your work on the interior so far, by the way!

Good catch

I haven't found a way to fix it yet. :hmmm:

Started work on fixing for interior.

I still haven't figured out how to change the texture in the GR2 file. :hmmm:

If you mean assigning different texture to a material within GR2 file:

- open up Gr2Editor and load gr2 file you want to edit
- select "textures" then right click on texture you want changed and select "select new texture path"

Don't we all? :)

Back on topic though: in order to do that, you'll need to do the following:

1) export meshes that use this texture using GR2Editor's export function. It will export to .obj format
2) import them them in 3d software (Blender, Wings3D, 3DS Max or whatever other program you use)
3) change UV map of faces that use this gauge to your liking
4) export resulting models back to .obj format with the same filenames
5) import these .obj files back to GR2 file in GR2Editor using its "Strict" import function (to avoid inflating file size. In this case strict import will work since you didn't add or delete any vertices)

This should do the trick.

Thanks, kapuhy! Excillent!

The compass in the CT cabin now works correctly, has a real central dial and is synchronized with the general compass readings.
