The name "Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club" was used from 1961 when the Seventh Fleet arrived to the waters off Vietnam.The qualifications for membership broadly construed to any service-member assigned to 7th Fleet, from the ships on the gun line, to aircraft sorties from the carriers, to riverine units, and Marines on the shore.This was a patch he Damn well earned.

May he rest in peace. I caused him some moderating headaches, but he was always a fair and reasonable person. He didn’t hold a grudge and was always friendly when I wasn’t screwing up. He was a source of interesting stories and history, and he was one of the defining members of this forum. The world is darker with him gone.

We're getting older. Not replaced.
And game studios don't even put out sim anymore.

Very sad news. Steve hade all ingredients and have a huge impact not only for me but also for Subsim community. Rest easy Steve!

It's taken me sometime to come up with some words to say, and I still don't have the right words.. but RIP Steve. I'm glad I got to meet you and make some amazing memories that still live with me day to day. Save a Dr. Pepper for me in Heaven, we'll sit and catch up on.
