Ohhhh, nice! :Kaleun_Los: I'm gonna print the Virginia and post it on the fridge, and date it Oct 13, so my kids will get the hint.

Hi Bill. Nice Subs. But isn't the Astute missing something ?

Oh Ya ! A sandbar. :haha: Sorry Bill but, had to post that. :DL

They do look nice. :yep: I kinda favor the Kilo. It seems more detailed.

Look nice I just hope they were bigger like 1:144. Well maybe 1/144 is a little too big but I may think 1:350 is a little too small. a foot long detailed modern submarine would be nice.

Castout - Here are the dimensions:

Kilo: 8.2-in
Astute: 10.8-in
Virginia: 12.9-in
Xia: 13.5-in

:arrgh!:

Ah :D

Silly me. I am so used seeing little submarines from Japanese manufacturer.

They are from Easy model which usually made smaller scale submarines.

Those are normally 1:700 scale, although I've seen some larger ships premade at 1:1200 scale. I've made a few of those 1:700 scale boats by hand (pre-builts are no fun) and some can be big, the Typhoon runs 10 inches, a 688 and Akula 6 1/2 inches and my Burke class DDG is about 9 inches.

I recently purchased HMS Astute. Not bad models for the price:up:.

I have both the Astute and the Xia which I got on ebay. I suggest you look on there if you can't source them from anywhere else.

No 688s?

Love the models. Too bad there isn't a 688. Anyone know where to get a LA class model?

Red October1984 11-17-11 07:18 AM

Awesome

Do they have an Akula, Los Angeles, Typhoon, or Seawolf? I think I'll look.
