I recently have visited the Yamato museum in Kure and is very interesting. They have a scale model of about 15 meters long, and a few pieces of the original ship rescued from the deeps, personnal effects from officials and sailors and some documentals has well.

For fans of navy!

What ever happen to the Yamato movie?

It came out last year. It's not out on DVD or anything in the West, though.
