With so much details you gave me I can only assume that your game/mod is not enabled properly...No crew issues here...

I was about to write that I didn't install the patch correctly then I saw your post.

Thank you. You are very keen! I also downloaded 4e patch from your sig. It was 4c.

Damn, now I can't hit anything with the torpedoes. It's NOT manual torpedo calculation.

How to even do the automatic torpedo firing?

I locked and fired and missed.

I locked, determined range (but without classifying it), determined speed, and missed.

bringing E just tells with the ship's keel under water?! How to classify the target ship?

Where do I find tutorial on how to do automatic torpedo attack with the mod. What an awesome mod. Thank you!

Just point the periscope and shoot ... Make a few runs in some test historical missions...

Hi Vecko
Is it this one he made the change in?
v0.0.29 - rewrote ship unknown tactics
- changed ship tactics for subs. The ship AI used to differentiate between a sub contact as surfaced (investigate) or submerged (plaster aka DC). They now just treat a sub contact as a sub contact (plaster aka DC)
Peter

I don't think so...:hmmm:

Just installed the Wolves of Steel and mod and very, very happy with. Great work. I am slowly working my through the tutorials and have just completed the basic navigation one. I need to now do the map tutorial so I can navigate using the map screen but can't seem to see where the tutorial for this is. The tutorial I've just completed just says use the map tutorial. Sorry if this is a dumb question but where is it? I've look for a tutorial call map tutorial but there doesn't seem to be one. Is it called something different?

Thanks in advance for being patient with me

I think I may have partially figured it out. Found several youtube videos on the subject but if anyone has a link to video explaining how to plot courses using real navigation that would be very welcome

It is actually really simple.

1. You need to know where your sub is. Use the Navigator and the real navigation scripts (choose the correct script).

2. Draw a line from your position to where you want to go.

3. While drawing the line you can already read the course from the map tool.

4. Set the course for the sub and there you go.

5. You can either watch your progress on the map for long journeys since the real nav script will plat your position every two hours, or you can look at the speed conversion tables to calculate how long it will take you at a specific speed.

No need to determine speed or anything else? do I need to lock in the target?

I tried point and shooting and the torpedoes always missed....

I'll try again. Thanks!

Thank you. It worked!!

But how do you set a new campaign with custom difficulty setting?

Everytime I start a new campaign the custom difficulty is reset to another preset difficulty setting.

Edit:
Ah, never mind found it. You can change difficulty at port. What a dumb design decision from the developers then instead of giving players custom difficulty option right away.

Last night, I manage to encounter this beauty for the first time in my SH5 playtroughs! :o

https://s6.postimg.org/wwa5u1nxt/SH5...5_03_10_27.jpg

She was doing more than 25 kn so I had to guesstimate torpedo solutions mostly, but I managed to score two lucky hits with wide salvo, one in the stern section resulting in significant speed lose due to destroyed propeller shafts and few seconds later, one in the middle of the ship. Crew decided to immediately abandon the ship and later she went down for more that 88.000 tons under our belt in one single attack. Escorting destroyer couldn't locate our position and she gave up her pursuit after some time...:yep:
