Photoshops 3d look how to get rid of background

How do you delete the background.

I made a sig to try give that 3d look, I delete the background layer so the sig ends up with that 3d finish. So the background is deleted right. Put up the sig and hello theirs that bloody background. Checked the layers and it is deleted and saved after the deletion.

Only other way is make the background the same color as the sites layout this will still look 3d to those who are using say the blue layout. But i would rather have a 3d finish with no background color whatsoever. Can i somehow do this with the layers. Ive tried so many options with the same result. I viewed a zillion tutorials that teach the same thing.

Can't this be done in Photoshop would i need some 3d program? How can Photoshop miss this! OR is it something so simple im about to be proved im a photoshop noob!

The white is the background. I just want to save the rest without the background, sounds simple and it should be!

So you want a transparent part? .jpg doesn't support transparancy (no aplha channel).

Use something like .png. ;)

Arklight you deserve a bloody medal!

I spent all day searching pulling my hair out watching photoshop youtube vids reading tutorials and they all taught the same how to delete background but replace with another.

And all i had to do was save the file as a .pnd :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

How can I save a Photoshop image with no background color, even if I have deleted the background layer? I know this is an old discussion but the answer to my question is very important I am appealing to the admin. Please approve my post, Thanks

Hey, you have to save it in a format that supports transparency. If it is a single image and not an animation, save it as .PNG
