E.Morgersen patrol 20 October 1940.

Captain E.Morgesen.
Departed on 20 Oc:Kaleun_Salute:tober1940 from St.Nazaire, with the aim of patrolling the AM41 grid.
21,22,23, nothing new happens. The morale is always high, thanks to the Doc who is really good at keeping men busy heart and mind and us too.
October 24th the crew begins to get bored, but the excitement returns when we reach our destination. 10.36 pm the sea becomes rough.
October 25th the sea is always rough. The doctor begins his work with some men injured during service. Nothing important.
25th October at 12.36 pm a cargo ship is sighted in the distance. I ignore the merchant ship, we didn't come all this way for a miserable little boat. 09.58 pm.Finally a message from the BDU: large convoy sighted on AM19 grid with ESE course and speed of 7Kn.
26th October. We intercept the convoy at 00.45 am. Sea always moving. I follow the convoy in order attitude and at 06.45 am I will send a report to the BDU to know what to do. Attack or wait for other U-boats ?

First you hit add new (entry), then type your text in the bottom grid, then hit update, then hit save (to save it so you’ll see it in game log)...
But it’s explained in Cmdr.

So, when do you do this? During or after a patrol?

Only after patrol back in bunker.
You Can’t see your current patrol when still at sea...

You can add as many new entries as you want. They are in blue color when hitting add new.
You can edit also the normal kills entries.
If you don’t hit save button, they will not show ingame log
They are showing also in Cmdr personal files (via browser)...just click the patrol number
