Yes, I finally decided id shell out some money to get a new headset since my old ones broke. So I got one of these.

Only issue Is, I cant get my PC to use it. It just says I have no audio device.:shifty:

And yes, I know this is a Xbox headset, it also works with PC.

Have you followed the connectivity setup on pages 14/15?

hmm, makes my brain hurt abit... So If im reading this right, I need a sound card, which Im pretty sure I do not have... ive been useing onboard sound.

Gargamel 11-27-10 05:47 PM

Your onboard sound is a sound card, just integrated.

You need to make sure that is working, then you should be able to install the headset. Can you get sound out of the speakers or a standard analog headset (via head jack, not USB)?

Task Force 11-27-10 05:49 PM

yea, on my old normal USB one it works. but it dosent for this.
(Im good with computers, just not this sound junk).

Herr-Berbunch 11-27-10 05:52 PM

Looks like you need a sound card with optical connection or you need their Audio Advantage Micro II (others may be available) to convert optical to USB. The other USB is just a power supply.

That's a bummer! :nope:

Looks like that investment will pay off with some quality sound though. :DL

I actualy have one in the back of my motherboard.:) So, now what... guess I oughta restart.

Good luck getting those to work.

Considering my luck with headphones, I'm sure that if I ever buy headphones like that, they will break within 10 minutes and probably manage to burn down the street somehow as well...

Task Force 11-27-10 06:06 PM

Considering my luck with the damn things, Probably the same will happen here.

Maybe your old headset has a built in USB soundcard?

I'd try finding the driver for onboard audio and reinstalling. With that done, you should see it as audio device in windows, and only then I'd try to get the headset working.

Seems to me atm you're trying to get it to work while there's no output.

I am getting this strange feeling the soundcard isnt working, its on a ASUS P5K Deluxe.

Im getting the feeling I never installed the drivers.

Task Force 11-27-10 06:27 PM

Hmm, any idea where I could get the sound drivers for my p5k deluxe's sound? Asus site isnt really helping.

Im sure its on the internets somewhere.

Select OS and find under audio. I know its there since I got it there as well (same board). ;)

*Actually, theres a model without the wifi-app nonsense, like mine: http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_I...86w&templete=2

Beats me why they decided to stick different audio chips on 2 very similar models.

Herr-Berbunch 11-27-10 06:36 PM

http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx

Then select Motherboard, then your socket (775?), and mobo's product number and click search.

On next page go down to Audio and expand selection, download whichever one you think is relevant. :D

Edit: Arclight beat me to it!

Task Force 11-27-10 06:37 PM

Yea, Ive got the one with the Wifi, Thanks for the links, now to see if this works.
