Great game, though EU is my least favourite Paradox grand strategy game series.

Fully intend to...just need to negotiate the purchase with the financial council. It's low price gives it a strong chance though :yep:

Also obtain a brick in case you need to smash the computer screen in rage at not understanding why the hell your budget is sliding to oblivion and the peasants are revolting for no apparent reason other than the lack of furniture.

There's a brickworks just up the road...so there should be no shortage of bricks...furniture on the other hand...ah crap...

My cunning plan to take Korinthos from the filthy Macedonians. I had two armies, main army the size of 1100-1200 men and a smaller army the size of 600 men. From past experience I figured that the AI would go for the main army, so I set it to AI controlled and commanded the smaller one myself.

The plan was simple; wait until the enemy would attack and sneak into the city while they tackle with my main army. This worked great, apart from few casualties due to the towers firing arrows at me, I got all three ladders in place with no enemy resistance. I swung around the walls capturing all the gates and towers, forcing the enemy to move into the city center or be killed by the towers.

The AI commander lost almost half of his men ( :nope: ), but my casualties were only 29. :smug:

The retreating Macedonians didn't know that soon they'd be trapped inside their own city

Beaten and tired, the remnants of the Macedonian army are no match for the well rested Greeks

Wow; RTW has such good graphics for a game of its age. And I also miss some of the features that were removed in Medieval II and later games, such as the ability to zoom in realtime on any one of your cities whenever you wanted.

^ It's the Europa Barbarorum mod that gives new models to the units making them look better AFAIK.
