This kit started out back in the 1970's and 80's as an idea AMT had that was eventually dropped because it was just too complicated to mold and produce in 1/25th scale.
The scuttlebutt started up again around 2005-2010 when Round2/AMT brought it back into the conversation with the idea of newer molding tech and CAD/CAM design making the kit feasible but the parts spent a lot of time going through the design and prototype stage. Now, its ready to drop some time in October. :up:
