Hello Magic :salute:, apparently the hard code for the SH5 dynamic shadows have bugs and therefore probably such hard code is partially borked, doesn't work correctly or misbehaves, tweaking the dynamic shadows settings can help to some extent but cannot fully fix the SH5 blurred shadows problem, if I increase the shadows resolution by tweaking only the shadows settings, the range of the shadows decrease proportionally to the increase in resolution, if I increase just the "HighResolution" value above 4600, the frame per seconds decrease exponentially. The path to the SH5 shadows settings is ; Silent Hunter 5/data/Cfg/Shadows/

Below I show you my currently shadows settings, keep in mind that the final solution for the SH5 blurred shadows problem is to fix the SH5 shadows hard code

I hope I am wrong :hmmm:, I hope the hard coded Dynamic Shadows for SH5 are OK and may be you will be able to find a better "Magic" settings for the Shadows of SH5:salute:

sobers DOF V2 SH5
Realistic night time . (you might need to darken your playing room)
Darkened unlit areas during daytime .
Better depth of field .
Realistic sea color during low sun on the horizon .
Darker cloud shadows .

That is awesome Sober. :yeah: I hadn't realised what DOF actually was until I saw these screenshots. As soon as I RTB this will bee installed.

I just realised one thing..... night time attacks using the deck gun will be almost impossible with this mod. :wah: LOL
