Problem with PA Maps
 

Hello,

I just installed Pacific Aces over Silent Hunter patched 1.1..
It works quite welle except that sometimes I see european maps (in the briefing room for example) instead of Asian maps...

And when I start the campaing (the one where you start near Brisbane), I don't see my objectove waypoint on the map and I haven't encountered a single enemy ship (or even allied) during 30 minutes and accelerating time..
Is this normal?

I don't have PA installed (deleted my copy a long time ago) but AFIK this is correct, there is no pacific map in the briefing room.

I also haven't PA installed since long because my Nvidia card corrupts menus, but I also remember that pacific theater maps were not visible in the briefing room.

As for the objective, you should see the blue cross somewhere, and due to engine limitations you will not always encounter enemy traffic until you arrive to the assigned patrol area. Keep also in mind that US subs travelled long distances before being close to enemy areas, and it is in any case normal not to find enemy traffic on the way, since you are in US controlled waters.

Do you have the PA 1.1 patch, which adds some contents and fixes, or simply the initial PA release?

It was not possible to change the European map in the briefing room - I think it was hardcored.

So now I find this thread dedicated to PA!! Ugh!

I'm having trouble with the VickersOilSlick3 add-on. When I go to install it, it's hosted on a site that wants me to pay for a membership to download the file. I just donated to subsim, so I really don't want to pay for a membership to a file hosting site that I'll never use again. Is there anywhere else that this particular add-on can be downloaded from?? Thanks.

I just installed PACIFIC ACES and everything is working fine. however. there are a couple of things that are puzzling me.... In the CAMPAIGN mode, the only start point I'm offered is Pearl Harbor, I have seen other PA users mention starting from Brisbane. Is there a patch or other download I need for that? ...and second, there are limited cargo ships available for PA...in the SHIP ID screen, there is only one ship listed for SLOW, FAST, OIL TANKER, and PASSENGER ships, where as in both DC and SH2, there are 2-3 ships listed for each type of ship...again, do I need to download something, or do some kind of file/folder adjustment to get more ships for PA? Thanks for yourt help.....

I found the PA 1.1 Glitch Fix for the SHIP VIEWER ID issue, but still haven't found why I can only start my CAMPAIGN from Pearl Harbor only...I'll keep looking, and check back here from time-to-time to see if you found anything...Thanks!

Click 'Create Campaign' and on the next screen hit 'Generate Campaign' and you can select your home port, year, etc

I recommend Kriegstanz & Kriegstanz Developer to create and play single missions.

Also Project Messerwetzer to avoid some Janus errors.

I don't think there are any patches you are missing other than be sure to install the Vickers mods in the correct order if you use them.

I'm not sure if they went for strict historical accuracy in the roster...... If so, a GATO class wouldn't be available in Asiatic until approx 9 months after it is available from Pearl/Midway. That would make those ports unavailable for some classes until later in the War.
