Problem with SCX

I downloaded SCX II & SCXIIc and the bugs patch. but whenever i download coustom senarios that involve different submarines other than the 688(1), Seawolf, and Akula, the area where it shows the submarine is black and says no platform is selected or something like that. Could someone help me?

GrayFox 03-09-06 09:40 PM

Also, what do i do with the playablesubdata.txt

MarkShot 03-09-06 09:41 PM

You need to use SCU (sub change utility) to enable that particular non-stock sub before you can play the associated missions.

Instructions for installation and use of SCU is bundled with SCXIIC.

Quote:

Playable Sub Changer Instructions – JSteed -- May 20, 2003
Once you have completed the "SC Playable Sub Mod Installation Instructions"
you are ready to use the Sub Changer Utility.
1. Start the program SCPlayableSubChanger.exe ( in your Sub Command folder )
and select the sub you wish to have as a playable. Press the 'Change' button.
If all the necessary data is in order … the SCU screen will display ‘Success’
2. The file, … Controllers.ini … has been changed. The appropriate sensors have
been associated with the User Masts and the Sub by modifying Mast.emd and
Object.eod. The appropriate dll files have been patched. Also a file
USERSUB_???.lod has been created in the main Sub Command folder, where ???
is replaced by the Player Name listed in the subcommand.ini file.
3. Create a mission using the newly controllable Sub.
4. Play the mission.
Happy Hunting in your new Command …

Perhaps the instructions given below in the thread 'Failling to apply SCX11' may help.

Its easy to miss that second run of the graphics instal. :yep:

Hope you sollve the problem.

GrayFox 03-10-06 11:56 PM

It still doesnt work. It will get 3/4s of the way, then freeze. I dont know what do do, and help?

GrayFox 03-11-06 04:05 PM

GrayFox 03-11-06 05:05 PM

I will try and pay for help. all i wanna do is play some Sub Command, and i cant cause it only loads 3/4 of the way.

MarkShot 03-11-06 05:09 PM

If I had any idea as to what is causing your problem, I would try to help. Money is not the issue.

Is stock SC running fine for you?

You might try asking in the DW forum (just pasting in a link to this thread). It seems most of the community moved on from SCX to DW. Perhaps, it will get someone's attention who can help.

GrayFox 03-11-06 05:11 PM

Yea, the stock missions work for me, but the coustom ones dont work.

Linton 03-11-06 05:45 PM

Are you using the playable submarine changer?I have noticed this when trying to play custom missions myself and a blank box appears where the drivable platform should be.Some of the Trafalgar missions are written for a specific platform! Usually the scenario writer gives it away in the title which one to use.

GrayFox 03-12-06 01:01 PM

Yes, i have learned to use the playable sub changer. Its just whenever i do a mission with a sub that isnt stock that it freezes.

If no answers to this problem, could someone tell me how to re instal it without having to sit through hours of download time?

Ramius 03-12-06 04:18 PM

As has already been said, you have to make sure that the platform the mission was designed for is the selected unit within SCU.

3/4 loading - hmmm not sure on this, are you sure that you have instaleed everything correctly and in the right order etc. (not being funny, but it does happen). And ran all the required .bat file for EACH install prior to installing the next one.

As Markshot says, money is not an issue here. We will help you the best we can for free

Regarding a re-install. Do you still have the downloaded files saved on your PC or on a cd ? If so then a re0install is easy enough, if not then you'll have to re-download the mods again as during the install all of the graphic files needed to be imported into the required files are deleted.

Yes, i know you could just back up those files, but this is one of the things that may be causing your game to pause.

GrayFox 03-12-06 05:42 PM

I have installed the Graphics and loadout for the SCX II and have installed the Graphic for the SCX IIc.

do i need to download anything else?
