Logitech g500 problems.

A few years ago, I got a very nice mouse for xmas, the Logitech g500. Given the cost of replacing it with a similar device, I'd prefer it fix it.

The left mouse button is not reading right. It often double clicks or releases when It shouldn't. And the mouse wheel is not working as button 3, it scrolls fine, but won't click.

I stopped using it a bit ago for these reasons, but as I left my other mouse at my girlfriends house, I'm stuck using it (I can't get the auto-disable on the touchpad on the lap top to turn off either!).

None of the tech support threads on logitech help. The only one close to it told me to turn off an option that wasn't even related to the problem.

I'd like to open it up to see if I can clean it or something, but I don't want to break it in the process, as there no obvious access.

Any ideas?

It's broke! I don't think you can break it, so it's all upside!:D:D:D

Sally forth with great vigor!

Hmmmm..... now my other mouse is starting to act funny. Center wheel isn't clicking either. rolls, but won't click. Really annoying in CAD programs.

I've got the same problem with the left button on my G400. Did some digging and it seems the button just simply is crap.

Think I'm going to switch to G502. :hmmm:

EDIT: Get some of that "dry" cleaner in a spray bottle and try that, fixed it for me the last time I had problems with the button. Just pry the button just enough to get the stuff inside, let it evaporate for 5 minutes or so.

I have a G602 and I love it. Wireless and the AA batteries run it forever. Tho it's not as good as the Performance MX that died on me.
