These ones are smaller in filesize and I loaded in (it was a storm) and I was shocked that up until now, I've never seen any lightnings (i use dynenv 2.9)
I mean thunder sound size affects lightnings or what the hell happened?

Last year I created thunderstorm sounds in mp3 stereo and it was a fantastic sound

I don't think so. I am sure I have witnessed some thunders both in vanilla game and in game modded with DynEnv, though thunderstorms are a rather rare event. The fisrt time it happened I didn't notice the lightning, but the sound made me jump on my chair lol

Thank you! :yeah:

Out of curiosity, what changes over the first release?

Atoka220 06-05-22 03:42 AM

I made a new version for TWOS as it plays the sinking sound only once instead of a loop so it's longer, has more sounds and is more sequential-like. I remade the zip so it includes the original one optimized for looping and the new 'twos' one designed to only play once

Of course it's a hit or miss as small ships can sink in mere 2 mins while bigger ones last up to an hour (or more)
At least the game mostly starts playing the sound when the plunge begins

Does this play in the sub? SHIII had the ship going down sounds within the sub. With SH5 I can only hear it via the hydrophone.

Atoka220 06-19-22 09:20 AM

If you are close enough to the ship, yes you can hear not only this but the engines and props too

Once i passed a ship going down just next to us and hearing the rumbling and all was terrifying from inside the sub lol

Compans57 06-19-22 09:59 AM

Good to know thanks. How close is close enough?

Atoka220 06-20-22 04:32 AM

I have no idea about the exact distance but you have to be closer than a few hundred meters for the sounds to overcome your sub's interior sounds

This is very uncommon to me as mostly as i fire away i just sit silently or dive away if there are escorts

Also attacking a convoy from inside and hearing an engine suddenly coming towards you is a terrifying experience lol
