No, but there should be a sh5 folder in your documents folder.:yeah:

Have fun and did you read the instructions in the Option File Editor Viewer folder. I think it is called How to use OFEV_readme (MS Word document)

Try again sometime.

Kind regards,

Aniuk

Think I found a little bug? Not sure if it is like this in vanilla also:

The sound being used when panning around with the periscope is called 'TDC_Bearing.wav' and is located in the Data/Sound folder. Currently every 5 degrees it sounds like a part of the lower/raise periscope sound, whereas in the earlier Silent Hunters 3 and 4 it was a tiny appropriate click sound. Not sure if you want to update TWoS in the next patch with this, or if you think it is already good as it is, but I've attached the old click sound file in this post for those of you that want it back.

NOTE: YOU NEED TO RENAME THE FILE 'TDC_Bearing.txt' to 'TDC_Bearing.wav' BEFORE PUTTING IT IN YOUR SOUND DIRECTORY FOR IT TO WORK

Vecko, what kind of issue is that pls!? :wah:

End of Operation Weserübung 12.04.1940. Huge Convoi including one Glorious Fleet Carrier.
Suddenly about 3000m away from me, uboat dived in a good shot position, the contact got lost (watch Message box) and the whole convoi is gone and not visible any more!??

Tested it two times, always gone. Is this convoi scripted that this one will be gone on a certain time/point? :hmph:

That's exactly where final way-point for British OW task forces is located. :) You can try to intercept them a bit earlier...

Hello!

I´m not a hardcore subsimmer, and since I don´t have much time to learn, I want to play TWOS in a more, how can I say, "gentle" level...

Is there a way to have the "target lock" (L) button back, so I can identify the ship and have an automatic solution? I remember a mod called "Wind and smoke", but I couldn´t find it. Or I have to change something in the generic patch editor?

Also, with the latest version of TWOS can I change the options in TDW generic patcher anytime I want, just by running the editor´s .exe file?

EDIT: I think I might be confusing the generic patch options with the Option File Editor Viewer

Thanks!

Hello!

Recetly got back into Sh5 and decided to try this mod I kept hearing about.
Glad I did!

Just have a couple of questions.

I started my campaign at the start of the war and I'm now in april 1940. So far I've sunk 9 ships. However, 4 of those are destroyers. And believe me when I say that more than half the ship I find are escorts. I try to avoid them as best I can.

On the rare occasion than I do find a freighter that isn't a 82 ton fishing boat then you can bet that when I've sunk that bastard, I'll have half the royal navy up my *** for the next 24 hours.

So yeah, my question is basically, am I just unlucky or is the AI usually this aggressive? I get that they would send some escort to check it out and maybe pick up survivors, so that isn't so bad.

What I find way more irritating is that when I'm cruising, trying to get somewhere, I spot a ship and it's, like I said, more often than not a destroyer. Doesn't matter if I'm in the English channel or cruising over the north sea.

I don't know if I just remember it wrong but the British home fleet didn't have a ludicrous amount of destroyers this early did they? Not counting the 10-ish that have been reported sunk so far in my game.

While we're on that topic, are the losses persistent? Like, the four destroyers that I've sunk, will that actually effect them in the way that they have less now or does the game just give them new ones when they lose some?

Edit: Oh and one more thing. Is there a way to rename my sub? Every time I get a message it says " To: U-** ". Would like to have a number at least. Muh immersion you know :)

open TDW options file editor, and I think its under the ships journal tab you can change your name and u_number,

Thank you MkIII!

Alright. Got another question. A stupid one but I honestly couldn't find a straight answer so here it goes.

So I found this really big juicy tanker flying Netherlands flag.

I approached and thought I'd sink the bugger. But I'm honestly not sure if I'm allowed to. In the flags chart it doesn't say they the Netherlands are neutral. But the tanker made no effort at all to avoid me as I drifted closer. Add to that the fact that my gun crew wouldn't automatically open fire. Which really made me doubt.

In the end I let her go. Didn't want to take a possible penalty.

Was I wrong?
