U-Boote am Feind (English Subtitles)

I translated and added subtitles to this great period film. Great footage of a Type IXA (U-43 under the command of Wilhelm Ambrosius). This was filmed very early in the war.

Please enjoy!

Downloaded! Thanks a lot for translating and sharing this, very interesting footage! Especially the uboat in raging storm and towering waves at the end.. As always the propaganda parts are quite theatrical, but you do get a sense of the insane conditions in which these boats operated.

Thanks Andreas! I also put up on YT if people prefer that. Even though the movie has no real overt NS message, it wouldn’t surprise me if it were taken down in a matter of time, but we’ll see! So 2 options.

Nice one.

I was surprised at how fast the 'eel' gets down the torpedo hatch...and how many sailors required to get a deckgun shell up to the con; and then down the tube to the deck handler; to the breechlock loader...(5?):hmmm:...I wonder if there were ever any 'accident' droppages under stress conditions' that caused a disaster!:hmmm:

Brilliant work this, thanks for the translation! The tone is much funnier than I would've expected for propaganda.
