Coming back for Combat Flight Sims...

I've come back from a long rest of many months of exclusive civil/airline sim flying (FSX) to try again some air combat sims. The sims that i currently have at hand are IL2:1946 patched to 4.10 (i think) and Strike Fighters 2 with NATO fighters mod, and i'm having a great time with those since they have very good replay value. I like realism and normal complexity in my sims as long as i don't get too bogged down programming MFCDs but also appreciate "lite" flight sims that have authentic flight dynamics as well.

I will most definetily get Rise of Flight too as soon as i can, can't wait to try out a Bomber campaign.

I've had my eye on Free falcon, any suggestions? how customizable is it? does it many active mods around? how complex is it? what can i expect from it?

Falcon is a very complex campaign simulator, with a pretty complex cockpit and avionics part, too. Free Falcon is visually maybe the, most advance dof that sim (which is around since 1997 in version 4.0 alone), but I tested it just two weeks ago, and found the AI to be extremely baaaah... I therefore stay with the porven Allied Force of Falcon, which is graphically older, but stable both in SP and MP, and does two well-running campaigns.

Falcon is not just Falcon. There are several incarnations around. You can get and install Free Falcon to check the extensive documents. The folder includes the original monster manual of the commercial release from 1997, the RP5 manual as another benchmark in the series, and many more. Hundreds and hundreds of pages.
