Pocket Battleship Mission

This is the same Carrier attack mission as the one for the Fubuki, except I edited it to use the Pocket Battleship, just so you would have a mission right away to test out the PBS. Right now for me anyway the mission CTDs when exited and the ships textures need fixing but this will give you a mission to test for any bugs.
Make sure to select the PBS and not the sub when starting the mission.

I added a German sub on the surface that doesn't do anything but will keep some of the DDs busy for a while trying to sink it, instead of attacking you.

Updated link, the old link isn't there anymore.

Peabody I tried the PBB mission - excellent. I note that you included a light cruiser in the task force - any chance of changing this to something bigger?

I also liked the little air raid at the end there - good stuff.

Cheers

I can't take credit for the air raid, the game must have put that in, I didn't put one in because the Fubuki didn't do very good against them so I left them out.
Sure I can make the Light Cruiser into something bigger, how about making it into the State of California? OH, you mean a bigger ship, no problem, want a heavy cruiser or a BB....maybe I'll go with a BB. No guts, no glory. Need any extra on your side if I do that, to handle the other small stuff shooting at you? Like I commented I did throw in a sub to get the DDs off your back, to give you a bit of time to knock out some of the bigger ships.

I tried the BB. I could NOT sink it. I set the PocketBB to Elite and the other to novice and pounded it for almost an hour and it didn't even show any signs of damage. The PBS was on fire after about 20-30 min and ended up sinking. I guess if you sail a ship the looks like a flower garden and then turns purple, sailors don't take you seriously. :rotfl:. The 'fix' didn't work for me.

I'll change it to a Heavy Cruiser and check it out.
EDIT:
I put in two heavy crusiers and added a Fubuki DD. It's uploaded and ready to try. I have to go wire a house so I didn't do much testing. Just use the same download, I just replaced the original file with this one, so delete the other one and replace with this one.

Thanks for the mission.

I noticed one thing:

You placed a surfaced Type IX-D2 in the mission. The enemy is concentrating on this Uboat and not on me.

Anyway nice to take the Admiral Graf Spee on a ride.

Yes, it was. I figured you can only shoot at one at a time so why not keep one escort busy for a while;).

That's one of the things I HATE about SH4...Since at max you're only supposed to have two guns, your gunners ponderously turn their massive 11" guns and 5.7" and 4" guns upon every single Elco boat, one at a time...*sigh* Guess it's an engine limitation, any way to make them attack multiple targets?

Does anyone have this file on hand? The link in the first post is dead.

Stand by Antzor, I had them on my own Nature Phototgraphy web site and ran out of room for some newer files so I deleted some old ones. I will find it and post on filefront now I have an account there. It will just take a few minutes to find it. I will edit this when it is uploaded and put a link here and change the link in the first post.

New link, also added in first post:
