Returning to SHII

Yes, this game DOES work in Windows XP. I went back, and with various mods this game is enjoyable but a little quirky. DBSM is an ESSENTIAL, and I went for PM 1.02, rather than 1.03.

I also replaced the in-game music with converted wav files from the "Das Boot" soundtrack.

On a training mission, I had to hit one of those merchants with not less than four torpedoes and 50 or more rounds of my deck gun before it went down. A stubborn old mule, indeed.

I have a little experience with editing, so I'm gonna revisit the Aces Kampaign with a type VIIB boat at the start. "Der alte Mann" needs all the help he can get.

The 1.1 official patch (And all PMess builds, which are dne upon it) ensure compatibility with WinXP, but if you have problems still, also you can set the game's exes (Sim,Shell and SH2) to compatibility with Win 98SE :know:

SH2 with lots of mods is still an interesting game to play, no doubt. I had some more work dne for SH2 (A random campaign based upon Rossbach's generator, correcting some bugs and improving a bit the missions) but never released it as SH3 came out. Wonder if there is some interest in it.... :hmm:

Hitman:
Please release your random mission generator for SH2. It is improvements like this that keep these "older" games alive and kicking.
